Beyond the Iron Curtain: Teaching the Cold War

What were the stakes of the Cold War? How did the United States avoid all-out armed conflict? Why does this history matter? Francis Gary Powers Jr., founder of the Cold War Museum, will share his thoughts on the end of World War II and the origins of the Cold War, as well as key moments in the conflict. Educators will receive ideas for classroom connections, from propaganda to graphic novels that will bring this history to life for students.
