Framing Better Climate Change Discussions
Climate change discussions can get heated fast. In this workshop, you’ll explore how to bring nuance, evidence, and strong questioning to a range of conversations that can be rife with disagreement. You’ll look at OER Project resources—including a lesson on climate disagreement and data explorations—that help students investigate questions like: How do we know climate change is happening? And how big of a problem is it? Rather than asking students to accept claims at face value, this session will help you guide them in weighing evidence, examining data, and thinking for themselves. You’ll leave with activities, lesson plans, and a flexible course with pathways that work across content areas.
