Design Your Own Escape Room

A classroom escape room can do more than add a little fun—it can spark curiosity, sharpen thinking, and give students a new way into the content. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to design your own classroom escape room for any social studies topic. You’ll look at the building blocks of a strong escape room, think through how to make the challenge meaningful, and leave with ideas you can adapt for your own course. You’ll also walk away with an OER Project escape room on predicting the next threshold of complexity. This is an especially great fit for Big History teachers.
