1815 CE Political Map

Our political map of 1815 CE shows the world at a critical time of change, including the arrangement of Europe and global colonies following the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte and the negotiation of the Treaty of Vienna. The century of British ascendancy is becoming clear, especially in the British East India Company's territories in South Asia and British expansion into Oceania and Polynesia. But there are other important changes taking place on the map if students look closely, especially in the highlands of Central Africa and the Caribbean. What long-term changes can students see unfolding in some of these regions?
