The activity focuses on exploring your initial thoughts and observations, challenging you to brainstorm about the interconnectedness of past societies.Process1.Take about five minutes—working either on your own or in small groups—to brainstorm and list items and ideas that you think were transmitted (spread, traded, transferred) worldwide during the period known as the first global age. Try to come up with as many items as you can. Be specific. Think about items in categories such as trade, culture, technology, as well as others.2.Now, reflect on the impact of these global transmissions and answer the question; “How did these exchanges help shape cultures, economies, and societies around the world during the first global age?”3.Be prepared to share your insights with the class.
