Choosing OER Project: World History AP
OER Project: World History AP® is a full-year AP® World History: Modern course that is rigorous, flexible, and ready for real classrooms. Built around historical thinking skills and reasoning processes, the course helps students move through the story of the world from c. 1200 to the present while building the skills they’ll need for the AP® exam and beyond.
With full alignment to the AP® World History: Modern Course and Exam Description (CED), a College Board-approved syllabus, and classroom-ready materials for every unit, OER Project: World History AP can serve as your core AP curriculum. Students read, write, analyze sources, practice argumentation, and build confidence with the kinds of thinking the exam asks them to do—without teachers having to piece everything together from scratch.
OER Project: World History AP Curriculum Adoption
OER Project: World History AP is built for AP teachers, students, and leaders who want a course that is both exam-aligned and classroom-friendly. The curriculum is fully aligned to the AP World History: Modern CED, approved by College Board, and designed to support students through content, skills, and exam practice from the first week of class to exam day. You’ll find short-answer question (SAQ), long-essay question (LEQ), and document-based question (DBQ) activities to match AP World History: Modern exam expectations (and we keep a close eye on College Board® updates to the course so we can adjust). Like all OER Project courses, World History AP is inquiry-driven, skills-through-content designed, flexible to use as a core curriculum or supplemental resource, and is online, free, open source, and classroom-ready.
