Choosing OER Project: World History

OER Project: World History offers four flexible course pathways, each built around a different periodization so you can choose the fit that makes sense for your standards, students, and school context.

Start at the very beginning with World History Origins to the Present, jump in at World History 1200 to the Present, focus on the modern era with World History 1750 to the Present, or support AP® students with our World History AP course (check out Choosing OER Project: World History AP to learn about our College Board-approved syllabus). Whichever path you choose, students dive into inquiry, build historical thinking skills, and connect the past to the world they live in now.

OER Project: World History Curriculum Adoption

OER Project: World History is built for real classrooms and is ready for implementation. All courses are: standards-aligned to the C3 Framework, Common Core, and state frameworks; inquiry-driven; and designed to build skills through content. Throughout every course, students ask big questions, work with evidence, strengthen historical thinking, and build durable reading and writing skills. Flexible from tip to tail, the courses work as your core curriculum or as a xof supplemental resources—all online, free, open source, and classroom-ready.
